My life has been so exciting lately due to the upcoming wedding of my friends Nadia and Alberto. This past weekend we celebrated Gaye holud, a Bengali ceremony part of the wedding celebrations. The actual wedding is coming up this Friday and I am so excited for Nadia and Alberto and their happy and loving future together.
Today I had my blog pictures taken at work by someone very beautiful inside and out – my close friend Melissa. She makes my work day so much more bright and enjoyable. I want to thank her for always being there for me but most of all I want to thank her for her support with my blog and for believing in me and my passions.
Yes, I know, it is a little corny but I like this rhyme:
The rain may be falling hard outside, But your smile makes it all alright.
I’m so gland that you’re my friend. I know our friendship will never end.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. As part of the 3-Way Style series, here are a few different ways to pair magenta jeans. Now that I look at the pictures, the more appropriate title would be : How to pair magenta jeans with a mustard yellow tank top. I used the tank top as a way to separate the magenta jeans from the patterned tops. These jeans are now part of my staples wardrobe and I can’t wait to figure out more ways to pair them. What is your favorite look?
And here are some of my favorite colors to pair with magenta:
It seems like my thrift shopping habits have influenced my book shopping as well. I found this book at Big Lots for $3. Yes, Big Lots, my American followers – the last place you expect to find a book. If you have watched ABC’s Extreme Makeover, you would be familiar with the author: Sam Saboura. I was excited to learn more about him and his style tips. The book targets the consumer vs. the style professional but I found it to be quite informative as a novice style addict. It covers body types, must have basics, accessories, dressing for the workplace and topics such as closet clean out, tailoring and efficient shopping.
My favorite part of the book are little sections called “Real Style Secret”. For example, he talks about the ideal length for jeans – three-quarters of an inch above the bottom of the shoe heel. It is always safer to buy them a little longer since there is a good chance they would shrink after the first wash. Also, do you know what the best time of day is to shop for shoes? As our feet expand and swell through the day, he recommends that we shoe shop midday, when our feet are in mid stage.
Speaking of shoes, for today’s outfit I chose Gianni Bini nautical theme shoes (similar here).

Randolph Duke has a career that every girl wishes for – successful, exciting, glamorous, dynamic, and appreciated. His ever-changing career covers designing swimwear, sportswear, and couture for Henri Bendel, Kenar, Halston, and the Randolph Duke label. He is one of the most coveted celebrity designers and now his designs are accessible to us at Bloomingdale’s stores. I had the pleasure to meet him at Bloomingdale’s and to take a closer look at his beautiful creations.
