Do you ever buy a piece that you really like but you are not sure that there is more than one way to style it? That is the way I felt about this watermelon maxi skirt but surprisingly I am having fun with it and I am even taking it with me to fall by layering with a checkered shirt and a denim jacket. Who would want to part with something so lightweight, bright, and flattering (a great cover up), right? The only disadvantage is might hide a nice pair of shoes but I am willing to make that sacrifice. It sounds like something that Carrie Bradshaw would say, don’t you think?
Which is your favorite maxi skirt look?
I hope you have fabulous plans for the week ahead. I feel slightly scatterbrained tonight so I am not sure what the main topic should be for this post. You can help me:
2) How I scored this killer pair of Badgley Mischka shoes for $70! I always admire bloggers and stylists who can consistently find and share deals. This is not the case -it was a combination of being my birthday (discount!) and being at the right place at the right time. I know, not very helpful but the store was DSW 🙂
3) What should I do with my hair? Although fashion styles come back, 80’s hair styles have not. I feel like it’s an 80’s video all over again. Any suggestions?
I hope you all are having a wonderful week. This outfit confirms my suspicion that I am a clothes “hoarder”. I have held on to this shirt for about 6-7 years and it would not be that bad had I worn it in the last 3 years. Now that I have paired it with this skirt, I will probably keep it for another 7 years. I know, with this statement I have ruined all my chances to be considered “hip” and “trendy”.
I was really excited to score this skirt at the “Ann Taylor” store for a whopping $15. The thicker fabric threw me off at first, but I realized it is cotton and it is part of the summer collection. So please don’t judge me if it looks like I am wearing wool in the summer. I can’t wait for it to be a little cooler so I can pair this outfit with a chic blazer as well.
Shirt – From Bulgaria
Skirt – Ann Taylor
Shoes – Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor (WHICH LOOK DO YOU PREFER?)

I hope you had a fantastic weekend. For brunch with my friends, I wore an outfit inspired by Jennifer Aniston while she was in Paris with her beau Justin Theroux. As usual, she exuded confidence and class. In search for that look, I found a pair of shoes that will be perfect for any jean outfit – high-heel, wooden platform, tanned leather, and a touch of bling. What do you think?
Shirt – Gap
Jeans – ZARA
Crossbody bag – Francesca’s Collections
Shoes – Michael Kors
I have been doing a lot of color mixing this summer but I have not completely dived into the color blocking wave. I got my feet color wet with this outfit as I had my neutral and bold solid colors covered but I was missing a third, bright color to kick it up a notch. I think neon yellow would have done splendidly but the thought of buying something I may not wear a couple of months stopped me. Maybe next time I should just buy a pre-blocked dress that will do the thinking for me 🙂
Shirt – Ann Taylor

Clutch – Ann Taylor from Alexis Suitcase

Shoes – Badgley Mischka (bought from DSW for $70 after discounts – yeeeeey)
