I have been a mom for more than two years but I am still struggling with the dilemma of wearing what I like and wearing what I feel comfortable in running after 2-year old. As a result my closet is full of things that I rarely wear because they are either too short, too tight, or too revealing. I have made the decision to find more pieces that are chic, comfortable and versatile.
Although denim skirts have been making a major come back for more than 2 years now, it was not until this Express skirt (currently on sale) that I became more interested in them. A great alternative to jeans, the denim skirt fits in my mommy criteria while being more feminine and sexy. Specifically, the pencil skirt cut. Possibly not as flattering on my pear shape as an A-line skirt but really who cares about that? If you like it, you like it and I loved this J. Crew skirt on me. It is soft and slightly stretchy for maximum comfort and fitted look without flattening my curves. The raw, printed edge adds a touch of coolness and it is a great alternative to distressed details. I can envision the numerous ways to style it but it looks like most of us went toward pairing it with an oversized top and heels. I feel totally inspired by Olivia Palermo’s look. On my to do list.
